As long-time friends and busy professionals, we each wanted to diversify beyond volatile 401(k)s and stock investments to build long-term wealth through real estate. But we didn’t know how to invest in larger properties—or that it was even possible without significant capital, experience, or becoming large-scale landlords. We knew we wanted in, so we started digging deeper.
We discovered that investing in large apartment communities is far more accessible than most people realize. And, with the right approach and partners, it can be a powerful and consistent way to build wealth. It doesn’t require prior experience or millions of dollars to get started, and it doesn’t mean becoming a landlord to hundreds of people.
Once we understood the fundamentals, we made the decision to fully commit. We left our corporate careers and became partners focused on building expertise in multifamily investing. We spent the time and invested in the training and education needed to understand how to syndicate and operate large, more stable properties. We surrounded ourselves with successful investors, underwriters, syndicators, and operators, gaining valuable real-world experience. We built an incredible team of expert partners.
We created Jewels & Crown to help people in the same position we were in build wealth through real estate in a simpler, more approachable way. Today, we help busy professionals invest alongside others in large apartment communities without the day-to-day responsibilities of ownership.
What We Do
We pool investor capital to acquire and improve apartment communities (typically 50+ units) in strong markets, using a value-add strategy designed to increase both income and property value over time.
This approach, commonly known as real estate syndication, allows a group of investors to invest together in larger properties, while our team handles the acquisition, management, and execution of the business plan.
By investing alongside others, our investors gain access to institutional-quality real estate opportunities that would typically be out of reach individually.

Jensen DeWees
After nearly 30 years in marketing leadership roles, Jensen transitioned from corporate America into real estate investing. She began with single-family properties before quickly expanding into multifamily syndication, drawn to its stability, scalability, and long-term growth potential. Today, she focuses on acquisitions and capital formation, leveraging her strategic background to identify strong opportunities and build lasting value for investors.

Steve Selvaggio
With more than 25 years of leadership experience in enterprise technology and operations, Steve has led complex programs, managed global teams, and driven financial performance within large organizations. A PMP certified professional with an MBA, he is grounded in disciplined execution and risk management.
With an early background in construction and real estate, he brings practical property knowledge to multifamily investing. His approach emphasizes sound underwriting, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation.
